Experience

With over ten years of experience tutoring STEM for secondary and post-secondary students in South Surrey and New York, I have helped learners from ages 15 to 40 meet their academic goals in pre-calculus, calculus, physics, statistics, biology, chemistry (general, organic, and inorganic), genetics, and MCAT preparation.

I also offer sessions for coding in Python and SQL.

What to Expect

Initial Lesson

Every initial session begins with an included 15-minute consultation. During this consult, we discuss your overall goals and learning style, allowing us to clearly define what academic success looks like for you and build a strategy to achieve it.

Sessions

Sessions can last between an hour to an hour and a half.  Sessions are interactive. Like a studying session with an experienced colleague.  Material is discussed while actively solving problems. These are not lectures and participation is required.

Outcomes

As sessions continue, lessons are tailored to the specific challenges each student faces—whether that means improving study habits, honing test-taking skills, or navigating academic planning. Beyond getting that grade, our focus on making sure you reach your ultimate academic goals.

Testimonials

Secondary Student - South Surrey

My son started working with Nick after a football injury left him unable to attend classes. Nick tutored him in Pre-Calculus, Physics 12, Chemistry 11, and Biology 12 while he was completing his courses via correspondence. Not only did my son maintain his straight A’s, but at Nick’s suggestion, he also applied for and was awarded a scholarship to a science camp at UBC.

Through his attendance at the camp my son was able to gain conditional acceptance to UBC before finishing his grade 12 classes after attending a science camp at Nick’s suggestion. I had no idea these programs where even available. I do not know where my son would been now without Nick’s tutelage. We are very happy that Nick has accepted our invitation to attend our son’s graduation.”

Post Secondary Student - NYC

I started working with Nick during my first year of college in New York. I was in a pre-nursing program and lacked a proper high-school science education. I also had difficulty with science education in English at the time coming from an ESL background. I was referred to work Nick after failing my first midterms in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. After we started working together, I finished with a 3.8 GPA for the year. Completing all science and math courses required for my pre-nursing program.

In my second year of working with Nick my GPA took a dip because of my difficulty with multiple choice exams in English. I was not going to gain acceptance to the nursing programs I had hoped. Nick suggested I investigate Nursing Practitioner Programs. We found that these programs had a lower GPA for acceptance but required two more years of study than a traditional nursing degree. After working with Nick for the second year I applied to and was accepted to a Nursing Practitioner Program in upstate New York. Today I run my own practice. Something I never even thought possible when looking at traditional nursing programs. My family even invited Nick to my Wedding to show there appreciation.

Secondary Student Neurodivergent - Surrey

Nick has been working with my neurodivergent son for a number of months, helping him with his Grade 12 Physics coursework. We truly appreciate his relaxed, interactive lessons, as well as his guidance in selecting post-secondary schools and programs that best fit our son's needs. We didn't realize we needed additional coursework for certain program applications, but thanks to Nick, we added those courses to his final semester in time to meet all college admission requirements.

Not only is our son maintaining an A in Physics, but we now have a clear roadmap for his post-secondary education. Nick has coached us in academic planning just as much as he has coached our son in Physics.
